Dr. Guevarra also stated that the event's theme, "Politics, Media and Citizenship" is very timely and interesting.

He said PUP would like to assure that it is truly supportive of the efforts in improving the quality and responsibility of the mass communication students.

President Guevara likewise assured the crowd that PUP is always ready to work with media practitioners and media educators. "This is the reason why we are very happy to host PMC on its fifth year celebration now," he said.

The president added that he prays the congress will be successful and all the participants will be happy.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN Chairperson and CEO Eugenio L. Lopez, III said he was happy and proud to be with the youth for two days of learning and interaction, and discuss "topics that matter to us as mass communicators and Filipinos."

Lopez pointed out that the whole country will face the very important responsibility of choosing new leaders.

"It is not too much to say that with our votes, we can determine the future of our country in the next six years," he said.
