"We had a great time on the road and then setting up Noah's tiny, but cool, studio apartment just off campus. As a father it was hard to leave him there alone but I found comfort in the knowledge that he is confident, prepared, and more than ready for this new adventure. University Ave. will be his little world for a while because we found everything he needs on that road. We did get lost several times as we tried to find our way around but we always managed to make it back to the apartment. It's exciting to see our son realize his dream of going to medical school."

Kevin Challenger’s time on the Alouettes’ practice roster was short.

Signed by Montreal as a free agent before a game against Edmonton, his former team, on July 11, the receiver has been released, barely more than a week later.

Both Challenger and offensive-tackle Scott Burley were dropped from the practice roster. The Als required the two spots for defensive tackle Marcus Smith, who played in both games of the team’s recent road trip, against Edmonton and Vancouver. Also added has been linebacker Earl Everett, who played collegiately at Florida with backup quarterback Chris Leak.

Safety Matthieu Proulx is expected to miss between two and four weeks with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Marc Trestman, although Proulx ran well on Tuesday, when the team practised at Concordia University. Proulx has missed one game already, against the Lions.

Meanwhile, linebacker Diamond Ferri will return Thursday, against Hamilton, after missing two games with a shoulder injury. He’ll likely replace Jon Banks on the 42-man roster and will rotate with Ramon Guzman.
